GLT Bearings presents a new mission statement
GLT Bearings has been continuously developing its product portfolio and especially its range of services for years. To ensure that this process does not only work “superficially” but can also be supported by all employees, the staff has decided to develop a mission statement.
To this end, a heterogeneous team was first formed, representing the entire company as far as possible. This project team acted both as a voice for the non-participating colleagues and as a multiplier of the insights and agreements gained throughout the company.
With the support of an external mediator from concept.id, the colleagues dealt with their own ideas and concepts of cooperation within and outside the company in several workshops. Topics such as future orientation, personal responsibility, commitment, competence and cost awareness were also discussed. It came to light that many values are already taken for granted in the company, but others still have to be consolidated through daily work.
The conclusion of both management and staff was practically unanimous: Defining one’s values and a mission statement from within the company greatly benefits everyone. In this way, the company can continue to develop safely and purposefully in the direction of customer needs.
