GLT’s bearing and slide support bearing solutions in great demand at bauma

For GLT Bearings, bauma is always a great fair, as it takes place right on our doorstep in Munich. Months in advance, we see how the world’s largest trade exhibition for the construction machinery industry grows into the sky and our anticipation rises. When the doors open to the trade public, the hot phase begins for us: we present industry-specific solutions to customers – and those who want to become customers – at our booth.

At bauma 2022, we addressed interested trade show visitors with two particular topic areas. On the one hand, the area of plain bearings and complementary spherical plain bearings and rod ends, and on the other hand the highly specialized area of sliding support bearings.

With unique products that can cope with the harsh demands of the construction industry, we scored points with many construction machinery manufacturers and suppliers. In addition to the resistance of the materials to dirt and weathering, the high availability and the possibilities offered by GLT Bearings as a development partner were recurring themes. Our continuous development of the service portfolio was perceived as a significant benefit that can provide our partners with substantial competitive advantages.

Presented by us for the first time at bauma, but already part of our product range for many years, sliding support bearings were another topic with which GLT Bearings positioned itself. These highly complex components are typically used in plant construction, bridges, high buildings, cantilever hall roofs and many more. Due to the broadly diversified trade audience, which covered the entire construction industry, qualified discussions could also be held here in a targeted manner.

Our conclusion:

In addition to the big players in the industry, who have been using GLT bearings for a long time, we were also able to talk to many smaller companies at the leading trade fair and offer individualized solutions. The feedback on our expanded service portfolio was very positive and promising. Thanks to our strategic expansion of the stock of many standard products, initiated years ago, we can deliver reliably in many areas, which is essential for most of our discussion partners and customers in times of massive supply chain problems. We were pleasantly surprised by the number and quality of the initial contacts, as well as by the size of the specific order volumes.
